The tour commenced with a visit to the Corona Department and the Corona Intensive Care, led by Department Director, Prof. Patrick Sorkin. During the visit, the Minister met the Department’s team of doctors and nurses together with dedicated volunteers who give their heart and soul for the wellbeing of the patients.
A significant part of the visit was spent at the mental health facility, accompanied by the director of the facility, Prof. Rael Strous and senior members of his staff. The Minister toured the unique in-patient wards, as well as the Family Therapy Center, and expressed her admiration for the professional and innovative customized treatment which is made so that it is accessible to the patients’ core values. Prof. Strous noted that the professionalism and innovation of the entire facility, is what led to the fact that about a year ago, it received recognition as an internship facility.
The Hospital’s CEO, Mr. Shlomo Rothschild, explained the Mayanei Hayeshua vision to the Minister and its desire to expand its unique community response, which currently exists only in the center of the country, in the hope that it can be made accessible to other communities and cities that are in need of a similarly customized response.
