Established less than 30 years ago, Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center (MHMC) is a growing 500-bed independent community hospital with 18 medical departments and 32 outpatient clinics and institutes.

About Us

Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center is an independent community hospital that has 320 beds, 18 medical wards, and 48 outpatient clinics, serving the residents of Petach Tikva, Givat Shmuel, Bnei Brak, Ramat Gan, and surrounding areas. The hospital is located inside the community and provides its services to everyone irrespective of race, religion or color. When the Medical Center was opened in 1990, a decision was made to implement the principles of providing quality care while maintaining the dignity of life as its fundamental values, and during its almost thirty years of existence, the Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center has become known throughout the medical community in Israel and abroad as a center that provides professional care at the highest level. It was recently awarded an accolade by the JCI for providing the highest level of care of all Israel’s hospitals.

Quality and Excellence

The Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center is affiliated to the Faculty of Medicine of Tel Aviv University, which refers medical students to it for internships. The Medical Center makes sure that it hires expert and renowned doctors, many of whom publish articles in prestigious medical journals such as Frontiers, Medethics and others. In 2017, the Medical Center received accreditation certification, which is a quality mark and an international standard for quality and safety, from the global JCI organization. Mayanei Hayeshua received the highest score among all of Israel’s hospitals. Out of 1,100 quality indicators tested in the fields of professionalism, medicine, safety, cleanliness and others, the Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center enjoyed considerable success, receiving an aggregate score of 98%!

First Place in the Ministry of Health's Patient Satisfaction Survey

For 5 consecutive years, the Mayanei Hayeshua Medical Center has ranked first in the Ministry of Health's patient satisfaction survey conducted among visitors to the emergency rooms of all hospitals in Israel. The results of the survey clearly reflect the hospital's vision, which is based on the values of service, the sanctity of human life and giving prime importance to the patient, without compromising on the quality and professionalism of care.

Our history timeline

1990

Mayanei Hayeshua was founded by Dr. Moshe Rothschild Z"l

Dr. Moshe Rothschild z”l, founded Mayanei Hayeshua in the belief that a growing city like Bnei Brak and its surroundings needed a hospital that cateres to the local population and provides the highest professional level of medical care and caring, while upholding the principles of Jewish law and the sanctity and dignity of human life.

1991

Inauguration of the NICU

Given that Mayanei Hayeshua became one of the leading hospitals in the country in terms of deliveries, opening an innovative NICU department was a basic requirement. The percentage of infections in Mayanei Hayeshua NICU stands at 0%, which is extremely rare and highly valued by the MOH. 

2002

Dr. Rothschild opened the first Mental Health clinic

Dr Moshe Rothschild used to say that mental health is the major health revolution of the past century. He opened the first popular Mental Health clinic within the religious community claiming that patients who suffer from mental illnesses should be treated just like patients suffering from physical diseases.

2007

The first CT machine was purchased​

As a community hospital it was crucial that Mayanei Hayeshua purchase its own CT machine, in order to respond to hospitalized patients and provide this important service to the local residents.

2013

Construction of new hospitalization tower begins

Due to a significant expansion of hospital services and a considerable increase in the number of patients, an urgent need arose to build another hospitalization building that can house as many departments as possible. 

2013

Massive renovation and expansion of Delivery Rooms

Due to the significant increase in number of births, Mayanei Hayeshua decided to renovate and expand the Delivery Rooms to meet the growing demand. The new upgraded department includes 13 luxuries and well-equipped rooms.

2014

Opening of Dialysis Department

Mayanei Hayeshua Dialysis department was opened to the public in 2014. The department initially included 8 treatment positions, and later doubled the capacity to 16 positions.

2015

Completion of upgraded Pediatric Wing

The new and upgraded Pediatric wing includes a new advanced colorful department as well as a fully equipped Pediatric ER. Some years later – a modern Pediatric ICU will be added to cater for infants and children in critical condition.

2016

Completion of new state-of-the-art Mental Health Center

Based on a conviction that mental illness can be treated, the Mental Health Center offers a range of treatments that cover every aspect of human functioning. The dignity of human life serves as a guideline in ensuring the highest level of confidentiality and privacy for all patients, from whatever religious or ethnic background. The building looks more like a prestigious hotel than a hospital and was uniquely designed to instill a pleasant atmosphere.

2016

Upgrading of Maternity Department

The new Maternity department is known as the most professional, luxurious and advanced in Israel. The department is designed as a hotel with private vanities, electronic beds, luxurious bathrooms and kitchenette in every room. first class neonatal unit with the best experts and pediatric physicians.

2016

Completion of new MRI institute

Every Israeli resident who ever needed and MRI knows how frustrating it is to try and get an appointment, especially when being anxious about suspicious results. This is why Mayanei Hayeshua’s new MRI institute is nothing less than a life saver for the Gush Dan population and beyond. The MRI institute operates 24 hours a day to treat as many patients as possible. 

2019

Opening of new Pediatric ICU

After several tragic cases of kids who were brought to the hospital in critical condition only to be transferred to another hospital in the area that does have a PICU, the hospital management realized that they must open a Pediatric ICU as soon as possible to treat critically ill infants, children who require complex surgery and post-surgery and patients of the eating disorders department who have reached a life-threatening situation.

2019

Inauguration of new Hospitalization Tower

After 6 years of massive construction, the new hospitalization tower was finally inaugurated. The new building was ready shortly before the outbreak of Covid-19 and was quickly transformed into one big Corona wing with 3 active departments, including a respiratory ICU. After the epidemic subsided all Corona department were closed, and today the building hosts the departments of ICU, Cardiac ICU and Cardiology wing, Orthopedics and Surgery departments and a new department of Maternity.

2021

New floor is added to the Hospitalization Tower

2 years after its opening, the new building was already too small to accommodate the multiple departments and there was an urgent need to build yet another floor. The new floor now serves as a fully functioning Maternity department, including a NICU, which were transferred to this location until the renovation of the original department is completed. 

2021

Opening of new Operating Rooms wing

Recently, a new state-of-the-art Operating Rooms wing was added to the existing wing, to respond to the significant increase in demand. There are now 6 fully functioning operating rooms in both departments as well as wide and comfortable pre-operating and post-operating units.

2022

Opening of new Department of Emergency Medicine

After successfully responding to a huge number of Covid-19 patients, the MOH demanded that Mayanei Hayeshua opens a full-time respiratory ER within the hospital’s main ER. The new Department of Emergency Medicine indeed includes a respiratory ER unit, as well as a Psychiatry ER, Orthopedic ER, Surgery ER and obviously a generic ER.

The Israel Friends of Mayanei Hayeshua


Established in May 2016 with the aim of helping Mayanei Hayeshua, a medium-sized community medical center, to raise funds for the construction of new wings, wards and units, as well as for promotion, marketing and PR purposes in Israel and overseas.

The Friends Association, led by chairman Dr. Ehud Shapira, recently received a significant boost with the addition of dozens of new members who have chosen to join forces in order to help the community by supporting the Medical Center in any way possible.
